The Sun is a great source of life force & healing energy for us. We need direct sunlight on our bodies to facilitate production of Vitamin D3 (strengthens bones, muscles, immunity, cellular health, increases energy & uplifts our spirit). Synthetic forms of D3 pale in comparison to the activation of sunlight, and often can have serious side effects including arterial calcification, and depletion of Vitamin A. There are many concerns about over-exposure to the sun causing skin damage & potentially cancer, and sunscreens are touted as a remedy to avoid this. But, there are many unknown harms in coating our skin in sunscreens, even "natural" ones. Here are links to some articles about sun exposure & sunscreens that may be of interest to you: The best way to avoid over-exposure & skin damage is simply to wisely limit our time in direct sun, get into the shade and/or to wear light protective clothing (cotton/ linen). Jump in the river without adding any toxic elements to the watershed & retreat to the shade of the trees! |
