Living Earth, Divine Mother, from whom all life springs forth, re-member us to serve your truth & sacred life instead of our convenience and to honor your glorious presence instead of the misuse of resource & opportunity. Let us align with your Sacred Spirit, and lead us back to responsibility in the use of your nurturing gifts. In Oneness (OT verse, re-purposed) |
I begin every session by sending healing into the body & spirit of the Earth, asking that as we heal, She heals; and as She heals, we heal. I don't think that the Earth needs us. In fact, I think she might be a bit better off without many of the abuses inflicted on her by humans. But I do know that we need the Earth in order to survive, both body and spirit. We need intact old growth forests, clean watersheds, grasslands & prairies, healthy ecosystems, unpolluted skies & air, biological diversity, and the electromagnetic healing fields of the Earth's body. A prayer, an intention, is a good place to start- but we need to put those thought-forms into actions. What can we do to help heal our Earth so that our life support system remains intact? Go out into Nature, into wild places and develop relationships with them. Meet the trees, hear the wind, listen to the birds & coyotes singing. Sit by the river and listen. Give thanks, make offerings, sing. Ground these places and experiences with love and softness into your body. And vow to protect these altars of healing. I don't know the direct course for this process of healing the Earth, but I do know that each and every one of us can do something, and that many little actions can create big swells. (the following is filled with suggestive links :) >>Support local farmers, medicine makers, creators that are working responsibly with the Earth. (Farmer's markets, local food co-ops, eat organic & non-GMO, buy direct from local small businesses & skip Amazon!) >>Reuse whatever you can, repurpose old items, and recycle. Buy ecologically sustainable & zero waste products. >>Ditch harmful chemicals that have negative effects on your health, and the health of native ecosystems & watersheds (no chemical sprays on plants, avoid toxic cosmetic and bath products, avoid plastics) >>Donate to organizations working to protect the Earth & wild places (Center for Biological Diversity, ONDA, Oregon Wild, and so many more) |
May we heal together on many levels, and work to heal with the Earth. In Gratitude, Kristen |
