Spring Tides March 2025

Recently my mother celebrated her 80th birthday, born just in the first days of Spring when the plants are waking after their long winter rest.  All the new growth of the season, the budding flowers , the bright green of the trees.  Walking outside, I feel such immense gratitude for the Earth.  I honor my mother's many years, how she tended to her children the best she could, and how there are ever moments of fresh awakening that happen in our lives, no matter our age.

My hands this time of year are almost always dirty, the Earth under my fingernails. The sun, the rain, the wind on my face.  I'm tending to what is rising after the winter's sleep, renewed and strengthened.  Every seed planted is the beginning of a new life, a new relationship. And I offer them to the Earth with deep gratitude, each one a growing altar.

The Earth is the great Mother of us all, our renewing life-force that sustains us and nourishes us.  Get your hands in the dirt, lay your heart on the ground, walk barefoot on the sacred ground beneath your every stop.

A Living Prayer to the Earth

Living Earth, Divine Mother, from whom all life springs forth,

Re-member us to serve your Truth & Sacred Life, instead of our convenience

and to honor your Glorious Being, instead of the misuse of resource & opportunity

Let us align with your Sacred Spirit,

and lead us back to responsibility in the use of your nurturing gifts,

in Wholeness & Love
